Overview

The Immaculate Conception College (ICC) was founded on July 22, 1947, under Bishop Manuel Mascariñas, D.D., bishop of Palo. The parish priest, Fr. Flaviano Daffon, along with a group of Baybayanos—Dr. Jose Silao, Mr. Amado Masecampo, Atty. Jovencio Borneo, Ex-Mayor Apolinario Tavera, and several others—decided to establish a Catholic school to be administered by a religious order.

The Franciscan Fathers led the institution from 1956 to 1970, initially named Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception. In 1970, the Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration purchased the college from the Franciscan Fathers.

Today, FCIC, after more than 75 years, continues its mission of being a Catholic school for the community of Baybay and its neighboring towns, with Christ at the center and St. Francis as its model. The school’s strategic direction towards fulfilling its significant role in providing quality education embodies the context of Christ-centeredness in its services, innovation, transformation, relevance, and sustainability.
